I grew up as an overweight child, which is not easy in this world.

I was bullied by other kids and made to feel like I didn鈥檛 belong. As a teenager, I committed to improve my health and start my weight loss journey. I focused on my diet and nutrition first, and then exercise. I began walking and worked my way up to running. Over many years, the weight slowly started to come off. Weight loss is not an easy journey though, it takes putting yourself first over everything else in life. After years of change, what I鈥檝e learned is you must commit to being the best version of yourself every day, both personally and professionally.

A mantra I live by is鈥

I started running several years ago.

When I was training for my first half marathon, the words 鈥淎ll Things鈥 became my mantra.

It comes from my favorite bible verse Philippians 4:13:I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

I would write it on my arms before a training run, and when I mentally or physically felt like I couldn鈥檛 keep moving, it would remind me that 鈥淎ll Things鈥 are possible if I set my mind to it. To this day, it鈥檚 still the words I lean on when things get hard.
